Instead of discarding your favourite blues when wear gets the best of them, extend their life even further and put them to a clever new use.
What you will need
- Denim clothing – be it jeans, skirts or shirts – or pieces of denim fabric
- Sewing machine
- Curtain rod for hanging
The most attractive curtain will feature denim of varying shades.
Cut denim into squares
You’ll need to cut up your denim items into squares of the same size (approximately 25cm x 25cm). For the best visual effect, try to get a mix of squares which contain front and back pockets, seams and plain fabric.
On a table or on the floor, lay out your squares into a configuration you’re happy with (the size will depend on where you intend to hang it).
Pin, sew & hang
Pin and sew square by square to form rows. Then sew the rows together, making sure the seams line up, and, finally, hang according to your style of curtain rod.
