After falling in love with Morocco and harbouring a dream of a coastal home, an American couple combined these passions to revive a Marrakech bungalow with distinctive patterns and tones.
Throughout their home, owners Caitlin and Samuel have made bold colour choices. For example, the pale sea-foam green walls in one living space set the tone and pick up on the ribbons of blue in the tiles.
TIP: When it came to making the patterns work, the owners had a plan. “We unified the look with blues and stuck to graphic patterns rather than organic ones.”
However, never underestimate the importance of white in a space. Its calmness can provide respite from bold colour creating a balance, whether the white is used within a pattern or to offset a colour.
