Born in 1964, Defne Koz is arguably Turkey’s best-known designer. Having studied Italian at Ankara University, she completed a masters degree in Industrial Design at Domus Academy in Milan. From 1990 to 1992, she worked for the great Ettore Sottsass, before opening her own studio in Milan.
She now has studios in Ankara, Milan and Chicago and has designed for a number of international companies, including Foscarini, FontanaArte and Guzzini along with Alessi, Authentics, WMF and the Turkish-based global brand Gaia&Gino.
