With Christmas just around the corner, it’s nice to have a few easy entertaining options up your sleeve. One of my projects this month was to set up my own ‘bar cart’ so I could easily prepare drinks for guests alongside sneaking some extra storage into my apartment.
The Terrace Console from West Elm was the perfect size for our space, and meant I had some extra room for displaying my favourite books and magazines, whilst the top is reserved for stylish beverage preparation.
One you have the foundation in place, setting up is fairly simple. The tray makes for a great divider, perfect for holding a collection of spirits and mixers alongside your favourite glasses. I also suggest setting yourself up with a cocktail shaker and or muddler as well as garnishes of your choice. A few of my suggestions are lemon, lime, orange, mint, rosemary, cinnamon and salt/sugar if you feel like creating a fancy rimmed drink.
Once your home bar is set up, the next step is to start inviting friends and family over to enjoy. Hosting drinks at home is a great alternative to spending too many nights out during the festive season, and it means you can get as creative as you like. A few of my favourite beverages to prepare are an aperol spritz, vodka soda with fresh lime, pisco sour and spiced rum (very festive indeed!).
